After the launch of their own party in October, these two euphoric masterminds have joined forces to create an anthem that resonates with the fans of the most melodic side of hardstyle.
Apart from the major festivals, events and big stages that are used to showcase the euphoric and melodic hardstyle movement around the world, two of the biggest names of this subgenre got together to create a new brand that served to create up and close moments between the crowd and the artists.
On October 10, Bass Modulators and Demi Kanon celebrated the first edition of their own event, Back 2 Euphoria, in Haarlem. Together with their fellow mates Noisecontrollers, Psyko Punkz, A-RIZE and Raven, they built an unforgettable experience for 300 souls that gathered for the love of melodic hardstyle. “Back 2 Euphoria was about stripping hardstyle back to what made us fall in love with it in the first place: melody, emotion, and that nostalgic feeling”, they told us. “No trends, no gimmicks, just real euphoric music, from classics to new music”.
The spark of what would later become Back 2 Euphoria was the first studio session Bass Modulators and Demi Kanon shared together for their collab ‘Who I Am’. “We both live in Haarlem, yet this was the first time we actually worked together”, they admitted. “After the track’s success, and the friendship that came with it, it felt natural to take things further. We share the same vision of what hardstyle should be like, which is why organizing our own event made sense. This track became the soundtrack of that night, and the process was effortless. We finished it in just two studio days”.
Because of this instant click, both with their first collab and with the success of their first party, they have come up with their second track together, which couldn’t have a different name: ‘Back 2 Euphoria’. This song captures the exact feeling from that event: energy, euphoria and happiness. “Euphoric hardstyle can make you feel joy, nostalgia, melancholy, hope… that emotional depth is what separates it from just ‘hard music’”, they told us. “Seeing how strongly people responded proves that this isn’t a nostalgic phase. It’s something a lot of fans are craving again. And we’re fully committed to pushing it forward”.
The first party in October was only the beginning. Having sold out in advance, it makes sense that both Rick and Demi will be back with a new edition of the event. “This is for real fans, the people who truly love this sound. On the music side, we’ll definitely be back in the studio together”, they said. And that’s not all, as they also dropped exclusive news: “we’re even considering turning Back 2 Euphoria into a dedicated act, so we can fully represent this sound the way it deserves”.
We will definitely keep you posted about this. For now, you can stream ‘Back 2 Euphoria’, their new collab, which is available in Hardstyle.com store.
Hard & Hollands mixt hardstyle met Hollandse meezingers
A fresh wind is blowing across De Berendonck. After saying goodbye to Emporium, promoter Matrixx is introducing a brand-new concept in 2026: Hard & Hollands. On Saturday, May 30, 2026, the well-known festival grounds in Wijchen will transform into a playground where hard-hitting beats meet Dutch sing-alongs.
The festival is hosted by Outsiders and Django Wagner, a striking combination that, according to the organization, is exactly the intention. “It’s a unique blend of two worlds that both revolve around celebration, passion, and recognizability,” says Matrixx director David Brons. “We want people to laugh, sing and go wild, all in one place.”
The festival takes place at the same location where Matrixx organized Emporium for many years. That event ended in 2025, but Brons doesn’t see it as a farewell. “The event landscape never stands still. Sometimes you have to let something go to make room for fresh ideas,” he explains. While Emporium once welcomed 35,000 visitors, Hard & Hollands aims for around 10,000 festival-goers. “We know the location and the community well. This feels like coming home, but with something completely new.”

Mainstage full of party classics
The mainstage hosts major names from the harder styles scene, including Paul Elstak, The Darkraver, FeestDJRuud, Partyraiser and Ruthless. They deliver powerful beats, but with a recognizable twist: Dutch hits remixed into energetic festival anthems. “There are already so many hard remixes of famous sing-alongs,” Brons says. “That’s why we wanted to expand the concept, a place where hardstyle and Dutch party culture truly come together.”
Alongside frontman Django Wagner, Marco Schuitmaker, René le Blanc, Gullie and K-Liber will also perform special Hard & Hollands versions of their songs. More Dutch artists will be announced later.

“An honor to do this together”
Outsiders is also excited to headline the festival alongside Wagner. “I’ve played at the biggest festivals for years, but this really feels special,” he says. “It’s not just hard, it has heart. Everyone knows the lyrics, everyone sings along. That’s going to be pure energy.”
De Klassieker: back to the roots
In the second area, ‘De Klassieker’, visitors return to the glory days of early hardstyle and hardcore. “I secretly love this just as much,” Brons laughs. “It reminds me of the early years of Matrixx, when DJs sold out night after night and truly caused a revolution.”
This area features artists like Bass-D, Pavo, Luna, Panic, The Viper and Rob & MC Joe, names that spark instant nostalgia for longtime fans.

Dutch vibes
Beyond the two main stages, there’s plenty more to explore on the festival grounds. At the party café ‘De Hollandse Nieuwe’, upcoming Dutch singers will perform, while visitors can enjoy traditional games like shuffleboard, tin-throwing, koekhappen and even an old-fashioned carousel. Is there a dress code? “No, not at all,” says Brons. “But something with a Dutch touch is always fun!”
